It sure is nice to have a place to highlight your accomplishments, and thanks to the work of a handful of Knights things are looking better than ever. Our old wall space was looking a little dated and cramped and our Charter document needed to care to be sure it would last the ages. Lead by our Grand Knight, Brian Mangino, the Charter was reframed with conservation materials, and the wall in the basement of the Church was redone and old plaques are going back up, highlighting our past Grand Knights, deceased Knights, and awards. Thank you to everyone who helped (or will) get this space looking great.
The St. Hugh Knights of Columbus had a wonderful Christmas party for members, their families, and close friends on Dec 12. Over forty people were able to attend. Gloria Winfrey made a wonderful meal and Deputy Grand Knight, David Mann, created a beautiful place setting from things he found. Everyone enjoyed their time and look forward to the next event.
To help celebrate the feast of St. Patrick, the Knights of Columbus hosted a pot-luck dinner at St. Hugh after the 5 PM mass on March 17th. For several weeks beforehand, traditional Irish recipes were posted in the bulletin, including one for corn beef and cabbage, approved by long-time parishioner and Ireland native, Bridgett McDermot. Over fifty people brought other staples to share and together we celebrated the saint which helped spread Christianity to Ireland.
